Who we are and who this applies to
Favor is a members-only dating application designed for accomplished professionals seeking meaningful, long-term relationships. This Privacy Policy applies to anyone who uses our Service — whether you're an applicant, an active member, a former member, or a visitor browsing our website.
For the purposes of data protection law, Favor acts as the data controller of your personal information. This means we are responsible for deciding how and why your information is processed.
If you're located in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with specific data protection rights, additional protections apply to you. We've described those in Section 7.
Information we collect
We collect information in three ways: information you give us directly, information we collect automatically when you use the Service, and information we receive from third parties you've authorized.
Information you provide directly
Account information. When you apply for membership, we collect your email address, password, gender, date of birth, first name, and the city you live in. This is the minimum we need to create your account and verify you meet our 18+ age requirement.
Profile information. To build your profile, you share things like your height, profession, relationship status, what you're looking for, a personal bio, what you look for in a partner, and your lifestyle interests. This information helps us connect you with members who share your values and intentions.
Photos and media. You upload photos for your profile, your public gallery, and your selective (private) gallery. You may also send photos and voice messages within conversations. Photos are subject to automated content review and human moderation, described further in Section 3.
Verification information. To verify you are who you say you are, we collect:
- A verification selfie taken in real-time through your device camera, used to confirm your photos belong to you.
- Optional government-issued ID if you choose to add an Identity Verification badge.
- Optional LinkedIn data (your role, industry, and years of experience) if you choose to add a Verified Professional badge. We never display, store, or share your LinkedIn handle or your employer's name.
Communications. When you communicate with other members through Favor, we collect the messages, voice notes, photos, and other content you exchange. We also collect any communications you have with our support team.
Payment information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed through Apple In-App Purchase. We do not collect or store your full payment card details. We do receive transaction confirmations and the last four digits of your payment method for receipts and customer support.
Information collected automatically
Device and technical information. When you use our Service, we automatically collect technical information such as your device type, operating system, browser type, IP address, language preferences, time zone, and unique device identifiers. We use this to keep the Service secure and working correctly.
Location information. We collect your approximate location (typically at the city level) so we can show you members near you and so members near you can find you. With your permission, we may collect more precise location data on mobile devices. You can change this in your device settings at any time.
Usage information. We collect information about how you interact with the Service — which screens you visit, which features you use, how long you spend in the app, what you tap or click, and similar behavioral data. We use this to improve the Service and to detect abuse.
Cookies and similar technologies. On our website, we use cookies and similar tracking technologies. Details are in our Cookie Policy.
Information from third parties
If you choose to sign in using Google, Apple, or Email, we receive limited information from that service — typically your name, email address, and a unique identifier. We only request the minimum data needed and only with your authorization. You can disconnect these connections at any time through your account settings.
How we use your information
We use your information only for clearly defined purposes. Here's the full list.
To operate the Service
- Create and manage your account.
- Display your profile to other members based on mutual preferences.
- Show you other members who match your preferences.
- Enable messaging, voice and video calls, photo sharing, and other features.
- Process subscriptions and payments.
- Provide customer support when you ask for help.
To verify identity and keep the community safe
- Verify that you are a real person and over 18 years of age.
- Compare your verification selfie with your profile photos to confirm they belong to you.
- Automatically scan photos and messages for prohibited content (such as nudity, harassment, or scams).
- Review applications, profiles, and reports through our human moderation team.
- Investigate suspected violations of our Terms of Service or Community Guidelines.
- Take action against accounts that violate our rules — including warnings, suspensions, and permanent bans.
To improve the Service
- Understand which features members use and how they use them.
- Test new features and improvements (no personally identifiable information is shared with anyone outside our team during testing).
- Fix bugs and prevent technical problems.
- Measure the quality of matches and connections we facilitate.
To communicate with you
- Send you essential service notifications (verification updates, payment receipts, security alerts).
- Notify you when another member interacts with your profile (subject to your notification preferences).
- Respond to your support requests.
- Send occasional updates about new features or important changes (you can opt out anytime).
To comply with the law
- Respond to lawful requests from government authorities.
- Comply with court orders, subpoenas, or other legal processes.
- Enforce our Terms of Service and other agreements.
- Protect the rights, property, or safety of Favor, our members, or the public.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent your information to advertisers. We do not allow third-party advertisers to track you across other apps or websites using our data. We do not use your verification selfie or government ID for anything other than verification.
Who we share information with
We share information only with the parties below, and only for the purposes described.
Other members of Favor
Your profile information — your first name, age, photos, bio, profession, lifestyle interests, and location at the city level — is visible to other members as part of how the Service works. You control what's on your profile and what's hidden. Information you share in private conversations is visible only to the member you're conversing with.
Service providers we trust
We work with third-party service providers who help us operate the Service. They process your data only for purposes we've authorized and only under contractual obligations of confidentiality and data protection. Categories include:
- Cloud hosting and storage — to store the data that makes the Service work.
- Identity and content verification — to verify selfies, check photos for prohibited content, and detect fake accounts.
- Payment processors — to handle subscription purchases (Apple, Google, Razorpay, PayPal).
- Communication infrastructure — to deliver push notifications, emails, and in-app messages.
- Analytics — to understand product usage in aggregate (we do not share personally identifiable analytics).
- Customer support tools — to manage and respond to support requests.
Legal and regulatory authorities
We may share information when required by law, in response to valid legal requests, or when we believe in good faith that doing so is necessary to:
- Comply with applicable law, regulation, court order, or legal process.
- Cooperate with law enforcement in investigations of criminal activity.
- Protect the safety of our members or the public.
- Enforce our Terms of Service or investigate suspected violations.
- Defend our legal rights or those of our members.
In connection with business transactions
If Favor is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. If this happens, we'll give you notice before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
How we protect your information
We take security seriously. The measures we use include:
- Encryption in transit. All communication between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS.
- Encryption at rest. Sensitive data (including verification photos and government IDs) is encrypted in our database.
- Access controls. Only authorized personnel can access member data, and only when necessary for their work. Access is logged and audited.
- Verification data isolation. Selfies and ID documents are stored separately from your public profile data and accessed only by our verification systems and trained moderators.
- Regular security review. We review our security practices regularly and respond promptly to any concerns.
- Member-facing privacy controls. Features like Private Mode, Selective Photos, hide/block, and granular privacy settings let you control your own exposure.
No security system is perfect. If we ever become aware of a security incident that affects your data, we'll notify you promptly and explain what happened and what we're doing about it.
How long we keep your information
We keep your information only as long as we need it to provide the Service or meet legal obligations.

You can request deletion of your account at any time. See Section 7 for how.
Your rights and choices
You have meaningful control over your data. The specific rights available to you depend on where you live, but the following are available to everyone using Favor.
For everyone
- Access and edit your information. You can view and edit most of your profile data directly in the app at any time.
- Adjust your privacy. You can control who sees your profile photo (Private Mode), your private photos (Selective Photos), your online status, last active time, and join date through Privacy Settings.
- Manage notifications. You can choose which notifications you receive through Notifications Settings.
- Deactivate your account. You can temporarily deactivate your account; your profile becomes invisible to others, and you can reactivate anytime.
- Delete your account. You can permanently delete your account by contacting our Help Center. Once deleted, your data is purged within 30 days (with exceptions noted above).
- Block and report. You can block any member from contacting you, and you can report members who violate our rules.
If you're in the EU, UK, or another GDPR-equivalent jurisdiction
You have additional rights under applicable data protection law, including:
- Right of access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") — request deletion of your data.
- Right to restrict processing — ask us to limit how we use your data.
- Right to data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Right to object — object to certain types of processing (such as direct marketing).
- Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on your consent.
- Right to lodge a complaint — file a complaint with your local data protection authority.

If you're in India
You have rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 and the Information Technology Rules. These include the right to access, correct, and erase your data, and the right to register grievances with our Grievance Officer. Children and minors
Favor is strictly for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to apply for membership or use the Service in any way.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we discover that an account belongs to a minor — through user reports, our moderation processes, or otherwise — we immediately suspend the account, delete the associated information, and report the incident to appropriate authorities where required.
If you believe a member is under 18, please report them immediately through the in-app reporting tool or by emailing support@favorconnect.com. Reports of underage members are reviewed as our highest priority, typically within 4 hours.

International data transfers
Favor operates from India. If you use the Service from outside India, your information will be transferred to and processed in India. When we transfer data internationally, we put appropriate safeguards in place — including standard contractual clauses, adequacy decisions where applicable, and other legally recognized transfer mechanisms.
For members in the EU and UK, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum where applicable) to govern data transfers to our service providers outside the EU/EEA and UK.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal obligations. When we make material changes, we'll notify you through the app, by email, or both — at least 30 days before the changes take effect, where required by law.
The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when the policy was last revised. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
